- レンコン組合とは -

 

レンコン組合とは、私たちのアートユニット名です。

ユニットを組んでいるのはThailand出身のHongと日本出身のChihiroです。

私たちは、お互いの国を行き来するなかで、又それ以外のアジアの国を旅するなかで 

安心感と大胆さをあわせ持つ蓮の花たちにこころ惹かれていきました。

それは、どこの国のどの場所でも花咲き乱れる池の前に立つと静寂とともに

さわやかな風がお互いの身体をすり抜け、こころ穏やかになるのを感じたからです。

いつも、「大丈夫（マイペンライ）」と語りかけてくれる彼らにはきっと

私達が忘れかけているアジア共通の思いが託されているに違いない 。 。 。

そう信じ励まされ活動の開始とともに、このサイトをオープンしました。

私たちなりのアート視線でとらえたアジアの特にThai と日本の素顔を紹介することで

お一人でも多くの方にそんな蓮の周りに流れる風を

お届けすることができればと思っております。

そして、いつの日か風を感じ受けとってくださった方々のその思いが

しっかりとした根（レンコン）となり、

連なっていくことを私たちふたりは夢みております。

       - about rencon- kumiai -

 

 

                  Our art group ,   Rencon kumiai  (Kumiai means guild or association in Japanese ) ,  

                        is a collaboration between Hong ,  from Thailand ,  and Chihiro ,  from Japan.  
          
              During our travels to and from each other's countries , as well as other Asian countries ,

              we were fascinated by the peace of mind and the bold spirit conveyed by the lotus flower .  

                         Any place we went ,  standing before a pond entangled with lotus blossoms ,  

                                                           we felt  that peacefulness and silence ,

                                   together with refreshing breezes that slipped through our bodies .

               Whenever the lotus flowers whisper , " It' s  OK  ,"  maybe it's the common asian mind that

                                        we have somehow lost touch with . . . or so we firmly believe .   

                                              So we started our works and opened this home page .

            This site will introduce our art works and the art of asia ,  especially Thailand and Japan , 
    
         as it really is , from our point of view. we also hope that we can send the refreshing breeze that

             flows around those lotus flowers . From the feeling of that breeze that they feel and receive

            from our website , the two of us dream that someday people will become entwined together

                               as strongly as the lotus root.

 

 

                                   Rencon is lotus root , a popular food that is often eaten in Japan .
           There are all sorts of preparations, among them baking ground meat between two pieces ,
           like a sandwich ; or frying it like potato chips ; or boiling it . Japanese are especially fond of
         eating rencon during the New Year , because it has 9-10 holes in the center , which is thought
                   to bring good prospects for the coming year .
